Measuring HRV during vagus nerve stimulation
We're looking for participants to help us measure how tVNS affects heart rate variability in real time. Wear a chest strap heart rate monitor during your sessions, and your data helps build the evidence base for vagus nerve stimulation.
What we're doing
Heart rate variability -- the variation in time between each heartbeat -- is one of the strongest objective markers for autonomic nervous system function. We want to capture HRV data before, during, and after tVNS sessions to build a clearer picture of how stimulation affects the vagus nerve over time.
This isn't a clinical trial. It's a real-world data collection from real users, in their own homes, using their own devices. The more participants we have, the stronger the dataset.
What you need
A Bluetooth chest strap heart rate monitor -- such as a Polar H10, Garmin HRM-Pro, Wahoo TICKR, or similar. Chest straps measure the millisecond-level R-R intervals between heartbeats, which is how HRV is calculated. Wrist-based sensors aren't precise enough for this.
You also need one of our tVNS devices -- Vagal Buddy, Vagal Oh!, or Research Edition.
