Meet Vagal Hub: hands-free Buddy sessions and your nights on one clock

· Claude Ai · Vagal.com News

Pre-orders are open for Vagal Hub, a small Wi-Fi stick that plugs into any USB charger by your bed. It does two jobs. It holds the connection to your Vagal Buddy, so Harv or your own Claude can run your sessions with no phone nearby and no browser tab left open. And overnight it collects your blood oxygen (SpO2) and pulse from a Wellue O2Ring, on the same clock as your stimulation.

Pre-orders ship from 20 November.

Why we built it

Until now, running a Buddy session from Harv or Claude needed a phone or a browser tab beside you, acting as the Bluetooth link between the cloud and the device. That kept you in control, but it also meant something had to stay open for anything to happen. Close the laptop and the link was gone.

Overnight data had the opposite problem. A ring oximeter records all night, but the recording waits on the ring until someone syncs it, and it keeps its own time. Lining a night up against the session you did before bed meant downloading files and matching timestamps by hand.

Vagal Hub moves the radio onto a stick that stays plugged in. It keeps the Bluetooth links, keeps one clock for every device, and sends everything to your vagal.com account over Wi-Fi.

One night with Vagal Hub

  • Evening. Ask Harv, or your own Claude, to run your evening Tone. The hub holds the link to your Buddy, so nothing depends on your phone.
  • Overnight. Wear a Wellue O2Ring. It records SpO2 and pulse all night, and you can see the live reading at vagal.com/hub. If the Wi-Fi drops, the ring keeps its own recording and nothing is lost.
  • Morning. A few minutes after you take the ring off, the hub copies the night to your account. Because the hub sets the ring's clock, your night and your session line up to the second.

What it does from day one

  • Overnight SpO2, pulse rate and movement from a Wellue O2Ring, with a live reading while you wear it
  • Hands-free Buddy sessions with Harv, or with your own Claude through a custom connector (your own Claude needs Buddy Research Edition)
  • One clock for stimulation, oxygen and pulse
  • Your data as files: any night as CSV or as the ring's own raw file, and every session the hub runs recorded value by value
  • Your Buddy's session logs copied to your account automatically
  • Heart rate during sessions from standard Bluetooth chest straps, such as the Polar H10
  • Updates over Wi-Fi in the daytime, with automatic rollback if an update ever fails to start

Everything is visible at vagal.com/hub: what the hub is connected to right now, a copy of its screen, your nights and sessions, and its activity in plain words. You can stop a session from there at any time.

Safe by design

The hub never starts stimulation by itself. You, Harv or your own Claude start every session, and only when you ask. Maximum intensity, current and session length are enforced in the hub's own firmware as well as on our servers, so the limits hold even when the internet doesn't. If the connection drops mid-session, the session ends safely, and no new one starts until the link is back.

It's also one controller at a time. If you'd rather run a session yourself, press Disconnect at vagal.com/hub and the hub lets go of your Buddy for an hour so the Vagal app can connect.

Who it's for

People using Vagal at home who want to see what their nights look like after their sessions, with nothing to open, sync or remember.

Clinicians following patients between home sleep tests. Today a patient can download any night as CSV and send it to you. Sharing access straight from their account is coming in an update.

Researchers collecting paired, time-aligned stimulation and SpO2 data from participants' homes, not just the lab, with nothing for participants to sync.

Coming in updates

A morning report, a night and the session before it on one chart, hands-free sessions for Vagal Oh! and Toner, HRV from chest straps, EDF export for sleep-lab software, and clinician access you can grant and take back. These install over Wi-Fi as they're released.

What you'll need

  • A Vagal Buddy, for hands-free sessions
  • A Wellue O2Ring, for overnight oxygen and pulse (sold separately)
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at home (networks with a sign-in page, like hotel or hospital Wi-Fi, won't work)
  • A USB-A charger close enough to your bed for Bluetooth
  • A vagal.com account
